Illyria theatre company returns to Queen's Park!

For the third year running the Royal Spa Nursery will play host to Illyria Theatre Company's outdoor summer production of Shakespeare. This year, celebrating their twentieth year of touring outdoor productions, Illyria presents Twelfth Night.

Following a shipwreck, Viola is washed ashore in Illyria, a country where everything is illogical, delirious, and completely topsy turvy. To protect herself she adopts a male disguise. But what use are disguises when Lady Olivia falls madly in love with her, and she herself falls in love with Count Orsino? This is all further complicated by the posturing and pathos of Malvolio, Shakespeare's most famous tragicomic creation.  It could all end in tears  .... or laughter. In its own inimitable style, Illyria presents an evening of romance, music and sheer and utter joy.
Both last year and the previous year we sold out, so book early, bring a picnic and a rug and join us for a lovely summer evening in the Spa grounds.
